Danica Kragic is a Professor of Computer Science at the Royal Institute of Technology, KTH pursuing research in robotics. She is the Director of the interdisciplinary Centre for Autonomous Systems. Danica received the 2007 IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Early Academic Career Award.
She is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and Young Academy of Sweden. She holds a Honorary Doctorate from the Lappeenranta University of Technology.
During the last couple of decades we have witnessed a significant development in the area of autonomous systems, such as self-driving cars and autonomous vacuum cleaners. An important focus of the research has also been on development of anthropomorphic systems with a vision for these to coexist with humans and provide support and help. Danica Kragic’s presentation gives a historical perspective and recent examples of such systems.
