Kurt Erik has a background in engineering and business development of ISP and world-wide carrier networks. He has been the CEO of Netnod since 2002.
Kurt Erik has worked actively as a WG chair in RIPE where he has served as NCC-Services WG chair since 2004. He has also chaired the Multi6, shim6 and v6ops WGs in the IETF. He served as a member of the Internet Architecture Board between 2005-2009. He has been a board member of Euro-IX, the Internet Exchange business association since 2002.In 2003 he became the chairman of the same association.
He has participated actively in development, standardisation and deployment of IPv6 in the IETF and various operational forums. In addition, Kurt Erik previously served as an adviser to the Swedish Minister for Information Technology and Energy Anna-Karin Hatt, as well as the Swedish Forreign Minister Carl Bildt. Between 2006 and 2008 he served on the Expert Panel of Data retention directive for Ministry of Justice.
He is a co-author of two RFCs. He is a regular speaker at International Internet conferences such as RIPE, APRICOT and Nanog.
